There’s been an update to the Japanese Whisky Product List, an exhaustive series of reference books that cover every Japanese whisky distillery and every bottle released.
As you can imagine this project is a massive undertaking. The Japanese Whisky Product List is a book version of the Japanese Whisky Database wiki, run by Japanese whisky researcher @moraten_fajime.Though the Japanese Whisky Database website isn’t available in English, the Japanese Whisky Product List–the book version–has been since 2019.
And as of June 2020, the book has undergone a few significant changes:
- It’s now available as a single compendium — 378 pages long!
- It’s available in Japanese, English, and now Chinese
- By popular demand, orders for color prints are now being accepted (5000 yen for B&W or 15000 yen for color)
- It’s been updated to be current as of December 2019
As I mentioned last year, this isn’t exactly the kind of book that you sit down and read. Instead, it’s a great reference loaded with details about every Japanese whisky distillery, past and present, and all of the bottles they’ve released.
