Once again it’s Amazon JP that reveals to us a new Japanese whisky.
This time around it’s Single Malt Komagatake Limited Edition 2019, the 2019 update of the whisky of the same we tried last year.
Based on the product description it’s “mostly” a vatting of malt whiskies matured in bourbon barrels. NAS of course.
The tasting notes mention ripe persimmon, apricot, orange marmalade, Chinese quince, and melons. “Round and clean,” they say.
Read my review of last year’s edition to get a better idea of what to expect (spoiler: I would not call it round, and I gave it a B).
The third-party seller on Amazon JP is asking 9980 yen before shipping, which is slated for September 27. Based on what I paid last year, that would make it slightly marked up, but not absurd either.
