Akasaka-based chocolate maker Mamamo Chocolate is now taking orders for Father’s Day chocolates that are made using Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu The Peated 2018.
Priced at 1800 yen, the “Kamisama no Ootsubo” (“Big Pieces of the Gods”) chocolate is a rarity in Japan, given that it uses organic Arriba cacao flown in directly from the farm in Ecuador. The cacao’s fresh, floral aroma is accompanied by a rich and bitter taste. The Ichiro’s Malt adds notes of smoke, pear, and green apple.
