Just under a year since the release of The Lucky Cat Mint, Mars Whisky is back with the fourth entry in the blended whisky series: The Lucky Cat May.
Distilled Blended (ed: thanks for the correction) at the Mars Shinshu Distillery, the liquid gets finished in umeshu casks from the Mars Tsunuki Distillery. That reportedly gives it a nose of fresh plum, and the body is light with the right balance of sweetness and slight bitterness.
Per the Amazon JP product listing, this release is bottled at 40% abv. Mint was 43% abv, so there’s a slight step down.
There’s no announcement about this from Mars Whisky yet, but previous releases in the series were available for around 4500 yen in Japan.
