Wakatsuru Saburomaru Distillery is releasing their latest blended whisky tomorrow — it’s called MOON GLOW Limited Edition 2018. This time around it’s primarily using a 20 year malt mixed mixed with others at least 10 years of age.
Only 6000 bottles of this will be sold. From 10AM JST on May 28, you can order it via the distillery’s online shop. 43% abv, 700ml, 9200 yen before tax.
Wakatsuru Saburomaru Distillery is one of those that you should be watching in 2018-2019! As you can see they are indeed sitting on stock of some nicely aged whiskies. The last release of Moon Glow took the title for best Japanese Blended Limited Release at this year’s World Whisky Awards.

Thanks for the heads up. Missed this the last round. Will try to order tomorrow. I wonder if the aged 20YO stock is from their own or imported from Scotland
I’m guessing that it’s imported from outside Japan.
The distillery hasn’t been in business that long to produce 20 year whisky.
Actually they started in 1952! Whiskies in this bottle are presumably from the pre-refurbishment distillery:

Apparently they aren’t sitting on much aged stock though.
