In a surprising yet very welcome move, Amazon Japan has announced the opening of a pop-up bar in Ginza from October 20 to 29.
There won’t be any menu at the bar, but they will be offering wines, beers, cocktails, umeshu, shochu, whisky, and of course sake, from 500 to 1500 yen. Instead you’ll use one of eight terminals to order based upon how you’re feeling at the time. Apart from that, you can use the hashtag #AmazonBar on an SNS to get a free beer or highball as well. Your first appetizer, vegetables from Amazon Fresh, is also free with your first drink.
It looks like the main purpose of the bar is to allow people to experience Amazon Japan’s lineup of drinks, and they’ll be doing daily events to showcase new/unreleased products. The schedule of events is yet to be announced, but judging by the web page, I’d say we’ll see both Nikka Black Aromatic and Johnnie Walker Blender’s Batch Triple Grain American Oak before the official release.
