Big news out of Nikka today as the company has officially announced not one but four new very limited single-malts. For the Japan market we have coming on September 26:
- Single Malt Yoichi Moscatel Wood Finish (46% abv, 700ml, 15000 yen w/o tax)
- Single Malt Miyagikyo Moscatel Wood Finish (46% abv, 700ml, 15000 yen w/o tax)
For the European/US market they’re releasing in November 2017:
- Single Malt Yoichi Rum Wood Finish (46% abv, 700ml EU/750ml US)
- Single Malt Miyagikyo Rum Wood Finish (46% abv, 700ml EU/750ml US)
Pricing for the US/Europe releases is interesting. In Europe a set with both Rum Finish bottles will retail for 395€, in the US either bottle will set you back $190.
Only 3500 bottles of each type will be made available, so get your hands on one if possible! Note that it’s 3500 bottles in total for Europe and the US, for those Rum Wood Finish releases.
We already knew about the Moscatel releases since a couple weeks ago due to the leak, but the Rum Wood releases come as a surprise. And they’re not even being released in Japan! It’s great to see Nikka giving overseas buyers well-deserved attention.
