November of 1968 saw the very first “Golgo 13” manga, and it’s still serialized to this day, making it Japan’s oldest manga still in production. To commemorate its 50th anniversary, Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions and Shogakukan (Golgo 13’s publisher) have teamed up with world-famous whisky collector Hideo Yamaoka to release two very limited edition whiskies:
- Gold Label: Glen Keith 1993, 49.5% abv for 22,680 yen. 154 bottles
- Silver Label: Speyside Region 1998 (they aren’t specifying which distillery made it), 51.2% abv for 17,280 yen. 359 bottles
Both of these are available only on Shogakukan’s shopping site, and as of this writing the Gold Label is already sold out. Obviously a great gift for someone who likes their whisky and assassin-for-hire manga!
