It’s only taken them a couple years, but Pernod Ricard Japan has announced that Jameson Caskmates is now available in Japan.
Jameson Caskmates was fairly well received by the online whiskey community upon its initial release, if only because it’s innovative. They’re taking regular Jameson but finishing it (for an unknown period of time) in Irish Stout casks from Franciscan Well in Cork. The stout itself is barrel-aged in Jameson casks, so they’re definitely getting their mileage out of them.
Pernod Ricard Japan’s official price is 2500 yen (before tax) for 700ml. Judging by online prices outside of Japan, that’s actually really cheap!
