Nikka has a third new expression of Nikka Black coming up: Nikka Black Aromatic!
Like the Nikka Black Crossover and Nikka Black Blender’s Spirit released earlier this year, Nikka Black Aromatic is a blend of Nikka’s single malts, coffey blends, coffey malt, and coffey grain whiskies. While the Crossover “leaned towards” Yoichi, this Aromatic is supposed to lean towards Miyagikyo. The nose is supposed to have sweet notes of green apple, bananas, and oranges, as well as honey and oak. In other words, if you want something peaty, go with the Crossover instead.
Interestingly enough this hasn’t been announced on Nikka’s homepage yet. Instead, Amazon Japan listed vendor Liquor Mountain is taking pre-orders. Did Liquor Mountain jump the gun here?
