Adventurous! Nihon Shurui Hanbai has announced the release of a wild new barley shochu. The “Taru no Shizuku” (“cask’s drip”) is not only rested in a sherry cask, it’s blended with a 10y aged sherry to give it a distinct amber color and sweet, rich flavor. It will be available from October 17 but with only 6000 bottles per year, it may be hard to find. Certainly easy on the wallet though at 1490 yen after tax.
Looking forward to more things being blended with shochu!
