The results of the International Spirits Challenge 2017 are in!
As though you needed another reminder of how good Japanese whisky is, Hibiki 21 has been named the Supreme Champion Spirit at International Spirits Challenge 2017.
What does that mean, you ask?
International Spirits Challenge awards Trophies in various categories, one of which is World Whiskies. Hibiki 21 won one of these Trophies (for the 5th year in a row, actually). However, only one Trophy winner is chosen as the Supreme Champion Spirit. This essentially means Hibiki 21 beat out 1,479 other spirits that were evaluated at ISC to take home the prize. Scotch, tequila, gin, everything. Needless to say, this is an amazing accomplishment and yet another testament to the craftsmanship and expertise behind Japanese whisky. And you thought it was hard to find now…
Suntory Spirits was also awarded the World Whisky Producer of the Year.
